Present Continuous

Present Continuous is not a mystery at all. But for those who are at a loss, let's take a closer look.

Usage

These are the main rules for using Present Continuous:

  • Action going on at the present moment.
'You are talking nonsense.'
  • When there are two action one of which is in process (Present Continuos) the other is a habitual action (Present Simple).
'I never talk when I'm working.'
  • Future action as something fixed.
'He is coming tomorrow.'
  • Continual process usually with the words always, constantly, ever, etc.

'The Earth is always moving.'
'She is always complaining.'

Formation



Affirmative
'I'm writing a letter.'

Negative
'I'm not writing a letter.'

Question
'Am I writing a letter?'
