Change off

Change off

  • to alternate with another at doing an act:
"Tom and I changed off so neither of us had to answer the phone all thetime. Let's change off every 30 minutes."
  • to alternate between two different acts or instruments or between an action and a rest period:
"Every so often I changedoff between pushing and pulling the cart up the hill."
Difinitions and examples are taken from here.
